Re: Picard spoileriffic discussion of the actual episodes
Well, I had to return to this site after a bit of "travelling"... What brought me back? Star Trek Picard. Boy oh boy oh boy am I torn about this show. I really, really, really want to like it. The character "Jean-Luc Picard" has been one of my favourite TV characters of al...

Re: Leonard Nimoy hospitalized
Me too! Hard to believe that they are all gone. Well, as actors they have the advantage of a glimpse of immortality - we can always watch them, if we like.Tinadrin Chelnor wrote: That really made me feel truly sad when I saw it

Re: A missed opportunity.
Well, I don't quite agree with you on this one... I always thought that it was a nice touch of Starfleet to give Kirk another Enterprise and to make it a Constitution-Class ship. I mean, at the time he would have only few years of active duty ahead of him and the Constitution class was being faded o...

Great review of a great episode. Even the score is really thrilling and outstanding in every sense of the word.

Re: So how did you get into Star Trek?
Puh, good question! I don't remember exactly, it's been a while... I know that here in Austria Star Trek (TOS) was shown on TV saturdays after the 60s Batman show (around 1994) and I watched it sometimes. Then I remember an article in the newspaper we got at secondary school (1995), a comparison of ...

Re: Poll ideas
I'd like to pitch another poll idea. How about a series of polls about the different sets/ship interiors. I know there were some polls concerning the exterior look and/or functionality of Starfleet ships, but I can't remember questions about various interior locations. The questions could be somethi...

Re: Do Starfleet ships have AI ?
*Exocomps* Hmm, it seems plausible that the Federation was cautious regarding AI in the aftermath of M5. And we've seen that while a ship can run quite smoothly with a skeleton crew and automated systems under normal circumstances, it is too risky to get into a fight (e.g. Star Trek III). But I mus...

Re: Who would you consider Voyager's science officer?
The cloud comes to mind. Kim: I've never seen anything like it Tuvok: That is a comment we would prefer not to come from a senior officer on the bridge, it makes the junoior officers nervous :happydevil: Janeway: What do you make of it Tuvok Tuvok: I am unable to offer an identification Captain Kim...

Re: Main page nits
Another question: Is it the intention of the site owners that you can vote several times in a row at the weekly poll? It used to be restricted to one vote per ID, wasn't it?

Re: Who would you consider Voyager's science officer?
The whole reason we're having this poll is because there was no defined science officer among the standing bridge crew or senior staff. I think Tuvok acted most like a de facto science officer, even with Kim's presence (perhaps because of his regard for Harry's abilities.) I'll have to check the fi...
Re: Dr. Phlox
Personally I think that he was one of the better and more interesting characters on ENT. I agree that Phlox's adequate medical skills concerning humans and his superior skills concerning alien diseases and species made him a sensible choice. Far more sensible than him being the only doctor on board ...

Re: Who would you consider Voyager's science officer?
Was Cavit actually LC or was he C? And chakotay was always addressed as Commander and outranked Tuvok after his promotion but always wore the rank insignia of LC Cavit was definetely LC: http://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp119/TheRichrocker/Cavit.jpg And it is customary to address a Lieutenant Com...

Re: Who would you consider Voyager's science officer?
I think it's similar to the command structure on Picards Enterprise: While VOY has a science department with several department heads (e.g. stellar cartography or whatever), junior officers (like Sam Wildman) and other staff, yet there is no "head" science officer in the senior staff. So t...
