Re: Ship nits on main site

Here's a phaser power nips (bug/annoyance) .. and I'll limit this just to what is published for Constitution and Excellsior. The Early Constitution starts with 6x lasers total 2000 terrawatts averaging 333 1/3 terrawatt per cannon The Basic constitution switches to Type 6 phasers (6x cannons) total ...

Re: DW 30x06: The Doctor's Daughter

okay, cloning the doctor and ending up with her i can almost understand. here's my retarded theory. the device was designed to clone either the mermen or humans. presented with the doctors dna it was confused, so it did the only thing it could do. it split his x and y chromosome to x and then reimpo...

Re: Speed Limit

um ... by the way, the speed limit was for only a certain sector of space. For some unknown reason the fabric of subspace in this limited area suffered from the generation of warp fields. however, this was not a UNIVERSAL constant. That is why a science vessel was going to be dispatched to study the...

Re: What would you take?

Think of it this way - If it only takes 1J to create 1KG of anti-matter, then only 1 joule of mass-energy is used to convert it... So the mass-energy going into the warp core IS enough to convert more anti-matter, - which in turn is enough to supply the warp core with more mass-energy, - which in t...

Re: What would you take?

Then obviously ships do not require much if any need to store anti-matter. If its so energy effective to create it aboard ship, then all they need is a very small supply for their photon torpedoes and the rest including what they use for their main energizers can apparently easily be created on the ...

Re: You're a Captain, you get to pick your starship. Which class?

And just how the hell can you say the defiant was experimental?? they were mass producing the damned thing during the dominion war. Any ship that has been designed was at some stage experimental. They start with a prototype which was the Defiant. Its success was the base for mass production. I'm so...

Re: What would you take?

Why would they need to stop? The reason my theory is more suitable/reasonable for the data is that they were shown collecting deuterium. It is more reasonable to assume that they converted some deuterium into anti-deuterium. Why? Well, if they made such a big deal out of collecting deuterium, there...

Re: You're a Captain, you get to pick your starship. Which class?

isn't it freighters running into weirdshitO that draws starships to their horrible death?? More like science vessels. I'm pretty sure that the number of times a freighter has gotten into trouble is less than the times the Big E's have run into stuff on their own. BTW I mean a civve frieghter, Sisko...

Sounds good to me.

Re: What would you take?

If you're saying there is an 80:20 ratio of anti-matter to matter, and that they bartered for anti-deuterium when they were shown collecting deuterium from nebulae, then the burden of proof is on you. Stitch, it may have been compressed, but if the anti-matter was compressed, then there is no reaso...

Re: You're a Captain, you get to pick your starship. Which class?

Back to the defiant, thus if you want to fight the defiant, you need something that can maneuver on a par with it, or atleast limits it's ability to maximize your gigantic size against you. That is why the Lakota is such an excellent vessel. Its large enough to pack in a massive amount of phaser ba...

Re: What would you take?

There were multiple mentions of them collecting dueterium, and yet not one of arguably the more important component of anti-dueterium. Why would they make such an effort of going to nebulas to collect deuterium, if they could just get the considerably cheaper - under your premise - deuterium by bar...

Re: What would you take?

Well it's possible but there's no on screen support for that. Besides that, there's a limit to how much anti-matter you could get onboard, even if it was 99% anti-matter, it's still only 99% of the total fuel capacity, which may not be too much. If it were a 80:20 as you say, that would only be 60%...

Re: What would you take?

i thought they didn't load up as much deutrium as they did anti-matter, being that deutrium they could collect easier then manufacturing antimatter. sort of long a ratio of 80% anti matter was loaded and 20% deutrium and then as they putted around the galaxy they just constantly collected deutrium a...

Re: What would you take?

Currently the production of anti-matter is created at a huge net loss, and indeed it can't be stored. Someone said earlier that we produce it at about a gram a year - well - only about a billionth of a gram a year  The act of converting matter to anti-matter doesn't have to require a pre-set/...
