Re: The Ten Year Thread

Universal Income has gone up in polls recently. I'm in favor of it as well, as it's the only way to avoid mass anarchy. Civilizations don't survive when 50% of the people don't have jobs.

Re: The Ten Year Thread

Graham predictions: I agree for the most part with what you have here. I think Trump will win if the Democrats choose another insider. I refused to vote for Clinton and I still have no regrets for that. I don't negotiate my vote with hostage takers. Democratic insiders who use the excuse, "I'm ...

Re: Isaac Asimov's 'Foundation' TV show?

I recently read the first three Foundation books and was thinking this would make a perfect show. The only down side is there really aren't characters that last throughout many seasons. There's a couple sure, but for the most part you'll need a whole new cast each time.

Organians

I'm watching TOS for the first time from start to finish. One thing I saw, and I know DITL agrees judging from the data entries, is that Organians in TOS and ENT act like two separate species. What are your guys' thoughts on that? I had figured the studio originally planned on having another Organia...

Everything Tactically Wrong with the Last Crap Movie

I thought this was a pretty good video of the break down of military decisions.

I think that's one reason the movie bugged me so much, just so much of it made no sense from the military perspective.

Yeah, opening up the universe to mass drivers is a terrible idea.

Re: The Last Jedi - spoileriffic thread

I thought it was good until the last act. The Space Leia was lame but not too bad. But what really irked me above all else is how they ruined Luke Skywalker just like they ruined Han Solo. What is the point of the original trilogy if Han shows zero character growth, Luke shows zero character growth ...

Re: Ep 11 : New Dimensions

The plant watering is actually fairly realistic (if they don't have an automatic system that does it). Big office buildings have a guy that only changes light bulbs all day every day. I think, while funny, it's actually pretty accurate.

Re: Ep 11 : New Dimensions

I really loved this episode. Flatland is my favorite book that I haven't read (I've seen the movie, read tons of scientific books that mention it, etc.) I liked Newton too but he was kind of forgettable. I'd rather have Yaphit be the chief engineer but damn captain had to be racist. I don't think La...

I'm attracted to intelligent independent women too. But she's got like some serious mental issues.

This show has gone way off the deep end in believably. Who would like Michael romantically?

Re: Spock in Crayon

At the writer's conventions I go to there's a lot of artists trying to sell their work or sell their skill for potential cover art. I made friends with a guy who makes Magic the Gathering cards and book cover art. You should look into it, you certainly have the skills for it.

Hopefully no one minds the semi-necro, this is amazing work Bryan. Like you could get into selling your art if you haven't yet.
