Re: Graham

Way back in the aughts, I stumbled upon this website, and thoroughly enjoyed the details "filled in" by Graham, and the passion he put in to this site. Not only this, Graham's wonderful design of the website inspired me to create my own similar website using frames, and publish it on GeoCi...

The Inner Light on a Theremin

The Theremin is a strange instrument. It's the first purely electronic instrument, and the first you can play while not touching it. It looks like something out of SciFi.

So why not use it to play one of the most touching songs in Star Trek history?

Re: Caption Credited to Me

It seems a rather weak attempt, though. Surely if he wanted to get someone in trouble he would, say, include a racial slur in the caption? Making a mildly unpleasant joke is a rather meek attempt. Also, if it were really a troll, you'd expect him to use the name of a more well known member of the b...

Caption Competition Special Mentions Bug

If a person got a special mention for the DS9 pic two weeks ago, it appears that they get all their entries in their honour roll.

Example: Frankie Chestnuts got 2 Special Mentions, but all ten of his entries are mentioned on his Honour Roll page.

Significance of the Release Date

Who else noticed that the date of the movie's release was May 8th?

Which just happens to be, according to the Star Charts, the day in 2161 that the Federation charter was signed.

I find that quite fitting.

Re: Caption Competition

Sorry, but I think I have to correct the First Second-Generation winner. I won with my "Katherine Hepburn on Speed" one, and my father, Frankie Chestnuts, won quite recently with the "T'pol Internet Porn" caption. We've got a friendly competition going in terms of number of honor...

Caption Competition

You know, I've noticed something. Mister Kennedy seems to favor a certain group of people for winners. Granted, some of this is just going to happen inevitably, but still, you almost never see a new winner, and it's not for lack of funny entries in the competition. It almost seems like he doesn't b...

Dueling Rikers (Second Chances) "I've never made love to an alien before..." (First Contact (Episode)) His performance in All Good Things was pretty good His introduction on the Holodeck with Data (Farpoint) Crashing the Enterprise in Generations. Maybe not a good Riker moment, but a good ...

Re: DW 30x13: Journey's End

I got a kick out of EXTERMINEREN! I don't care that it's lousy German, it made me laugh. Also, I figured that there was going to be some kind of deus-ex-machina with the spare hand, but I appreciate that they didn't just have it as a throwaway scene. I like that they made it relevant to the plot, wi...

Re: Favourite Picard Moment

I love the following scene from The Ensigns of Command: Picard: Pursuant to paragraph one-thousand two-hundred and ninety I formally request third party arbitration of our dispute. Sheliak: Agreed. Picard: And further, pursuant to subsection D, three, I name the Grizzelas to arbitrate. Sheliak: Griz...

Reviving an old thread with 2 jokes: First, the gross one: Two golfers are out on a course. About at the 7th hole, one of the golfers says to his buddy "Oh man, I got to use the bathroom!" "Well, there are some bushes over there," replies the second. "Naw, man, it's #2."...

Way back around season 2-3, I thought of a sure-fire way to fix the series so that it fit in with the rest of the Star Trek universe. Despite Coto doing fairly well with the series in Season 4, I find it funny that they ended the series with that same key quote: "Computer: End Program" It ...
