Re: "Star Trek: Picard" Teaser

I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. One thing that is bugs me about the newest trailer is the Starfleet uniforms. This is supposed to be 20 years after Nemesis, yet Starfleet seems to have reverted back to early-2370s uniforms. They should be on the ones from "All Good Things"/"...

Re: Disney Reinstates Director James Gunn For ‘GoTG 3"

I seem to recall one of the reasons Disney gave for firing Gunn was to protect their "family-friendly image".

But now that Disney has bought FOX and are now the proud owners of properties such as Deadpool, I'm not sure they can claim that as an issue.

Re: Toy Story 4 | Official Teaser Trailer

It looks fun, and I do plan to see it in the theater. But, I still think Pixar took on an enormous task continuing the series after the ending of the previous movie. It remains to be seen if they have succeeded.

Re: Mortal Engines Official Trailer

I had no interest in seeing this. I couldn't get past the whole concept of roaming cities. It's one of those concepts that starts out cool to some (like a ten-year-old), but when you try to work it out, it just comes out silly.

Re: Molly's Age

When O'Brien asked about Alexander in "Way of the Warrior", Worf says Alexander was "happier living with his parents than he ever was living with me". So, that could be where he was at the time. Probably moved back there for a while after the destruction of the Enterprise, or som...

Re: Molly's Age

Alexander presents a hole in your theory. Alexander was born around the middle of Season 3 of TNG, making him about two years old by the time he begins living with Worf in Season 5, when he is played by 10-year-old Brian Bonsall. That's after living for a year with Worf's foster parents on Earth. We...

Re: Molly's Age

I think it was mentioned that Jake was in early teens when DS9 began. 13 or 14. Scarlett Pomers (Naomi) was 10 years old when she started. But, why would warp drive just have that effect on children? Speaking of Naomi... There's another oddity about her. She was born nearly a full year after Voyager...

Re: Single Season TV Series Favorites

I recently watched Legend, a science fiction/western starring Richard Dean Anderson and John de Lancie. I would loved to have seen, at least, a full season. A downside if it had got more than that: it could have made RDA unavailable for SG1.

Re: Things that make you go "huh"

In The Swan Princess, John Cleese voices a frog who thinks he is a prince under a curse. In the Shrek movies, Cleese's character is a king who was once a frog (and is eventually turned back into one). Though, Cleese gave the former character more of a French accent.

Re: Should DITL now include Discovery?

So far, my experience with Discovery is limited to the initial ads and what's been discussed on here. But, based on that, I would be in favor of treating Discovery as a new alternate timeline. Separate from the Prime timeline. Separate from Kelvin timeline.

He failed. He still lives, but he failed to launch. The reasons seem to vary. The above article mentions technical problems. Another article mentions he's trying to raise more money for other necessary equipment--like a space suit. In the meantime, he's going to be suing some government officials f...

If he does not, as the article cites him as saying, believe in science; then how exactly did he create a rocket-powered craft? Unicorn farts? Those are known to be high in anti-matter... if they could find a way to safely bring the Unicorn farts and Narwhal dorsal fins to a 1.2748:1 ratio without t...

Man to Prove Earth is Flat...

...in his own homemade rocket.

I predict a most magnificent fail. But, if he does manage to survive his trip, I look forward to reading about his reaction.
