Re: Calais Crossing
I thought all countries in the European Union had a standardized policy of immigration and citizenship. For those that are already EU citizens, yes. For those coming outside of the EU to live in EU states while there are EU guidelines the matter is largely down to the external immigration laws of t...

Re: Calais Crossing
What are you afraid of Teaos? Reduction of social benefits, reduced immigration, a decline of cultural civility resulting in street level harassment, death camps, or what? I'm not being sarcastic here. From what I've read, the UK has a pretty generous welfare state, and is quite soft on the whole im...

"the south" in not necessarily a location/direction. It is a state of mind. Some of the southern states aren't really included in that; Florida, the Carolinas, maybe even Georgia. Yes and no. I've met people from upper New York State, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, and California that...

Re: Calais Crossing
I thought Syrian and Iraqi refugees were going to Central and Eastern Europe; South Asians, Libyans, as well as other Africans were trying for Western Europe.
France is a good country, why don't the refugees/migrants try to stay there?

Calais Crossing
I've heard that there are (or were) large migrant camps around the chunnel in Calais. Are these people mostly from one region or are their origins fairly heterogeneous?

Re: Kira on Defiant
You know, I always thought Worf should have been brought onto the show as the Captain of the Defiant. First, let's face it, "Chief of Strategic Operations" is a non-job. It's so obviously a non-job that they even had a scene where people on the show mocked his job to his face. Giving him ...

Shit, I've lived three fourths of my grandfather's life and seen too many friends go into the ground. The promise of salvation seems so far away, but for now the anguish lingers on, and one day all the memories will fade away.
But yeah... happy birthday man!

Re: Funny pics
Oh you heard that one before? Well did I tell you of the week I spent drinking? Each night I came home, and something seemed out of place. Finally... As I went home on Sunday night as drunk as drunk could be, I saw a lad sneaking out the back, a quarter after three. Well, I called me wife and I said...

Re: Funny pics
Nutso's comment reminded of it, just thought it sounded cool. If you want relationship problems though, let me tell you... Now many many years ago when I was 23, I was married to a widow who was pretty as could be. This widow had a grown up daughter had hair of red, my father fell in love with her a...

Oh rainy day woman, I never seem to see you for the good times, or the sunshine. You have been a friend of mine, rainy day woman. That woman of mine she ain't happy, till she finds something wrong and has someone to blame; if it ain't one thing it's another one on the way. Woke up this morning to th...
