Re: X most awesome moments in TNG

All of Lwaxana's quips about, and to, the Antedean delegation imo.

Re: Special Administrative Regions?

Re the Baku: I always interpreted it as that the planet was in a sector of space claimed/controlled by the Federation even if they weren't Federation members. See, I find that a stunning proposition. You are saying that you think the Federation can just pick out a block of space and decide that it ...

Re: Rick Berman's First Breakdown of TNG Characters

Poor Dr. Crusher. She had absolutely no qualifier or personality concept even right from initial conception. No wonder it took them like 6 seasons and some female writing staff additions to actually write any personality into the female characters or give them important things to do. Seeing this ove...

Re: Michael Dorn Confirms He’s Working on a new Star Trek se

Couldn't agree more. The reboot universe isn't suited for tv as it is heavily reliant on CGI. Welcome back :) That plus, as I believe others discussed somewhere or other... signing the movie cast to transition to a TV series is probably just a complete pipedream, and if they continue to make reboot...

Re: Michael Dorn Confirms He’s Working on a new Star Trek se

Hi everybody, btw. I don't think this is a "bad" idea. In fact I thought about "what about in the future some Trek series about a Klingon ship?" or similar even back during late TNG days. But I won't lie-- I'd take *anything* over something set in the reboot movie universe. Enter...

Re: Re'deridex

I would see between two and three Norexans for every D'D. The D'D is a larger there for more powerful ship. Is there any canon reason to believe this? We don't have even any frame of reference within Romulan military hardware to compare by. We don't know the "exact" age of the D'Deridex b...

Re: Survival Instinct

Was any on-screen explanation EVER offered as to how people assimilated from the Alpha Quadrant and/or directly by the cube during the events of Wolf 359 were in the Delta Quadrant?

Re: Why uber ships fail

 About ther strength of bugs, wasn't it becase of a weakness in the aft shields that the Runabouts could match the bugs? Yes it was. No matter how much people like to "overlook" those kinds of little weaknesses or design flaws (which inevitably will come up especially with the big di...

Re: Cochrane's "Star Trek" line?

Okay, my premise is about a genetically engineered whale captain leading a group of misfit outcasts that are all secretly experts in every known field on a mission to save the multiverse in a time-traveling, universe-hopping MVAM supership that seperates into 220 individual ships. And Neelix is the...

Re: Final Fantasy 7

So, I got a Playstation emulator running, and started this game (I only got to play a little bit of it on a friend's PS1 about 12 years ago); the graphics are somewhat dated, but the rendered backgrounds and cutscenes are already impressing me, even though I'm only a few minutes into the game. Anyo...

Re: Legacy

To the guy asking if he should buy it --- I bought it and never play it. Ever. You'd get much more good gameplay time out of just downloading some mods for Star Trek: Bridge Commander ( a vastly, vastly better Trek space combat game.)

Re: YOU are involved in the events of INS

Removal from land nonconsensually has cultural and psychological effects which are just as destructive as any abuses in the actual removal process itself. Particularly in the case of spiritual or animistic societies removed in our own history, a people's entire cosmological sense of existence and pu...

Re: The potential for refits

Then it'd be hit by numerous powerful phaser banks and possibly torps while attempting to do the very difficult task of making its guns hit a single small area on every attack run. It'd lose pretty quickly, and that's even ignoring the fact that the battleship could try something radical like....oh...

Re: YOU are involved in the events of INS

The Borg certainly don't see assimilation as killing. They see it as a gift--- doing lesser races a favor. Ignoring the free will and rights of another sentient race in order to accomplish something they view as a win-win situation for all involved. How is that logic any different from what you pro...

Re: Why uber ships fail

Yup, look at all of TNG and how many times we actually saw a Romulan Warbird FIGHT, when it wasn't a dream sequence, a simulation, an alien deception, etc. IIRC, once - in "Tin Man", when a single volley knocked the E-D's shields down to 30%. That's a pretty impressive punch. *Nods* They ...
