Re: And so, it begins.

I've not a set rota, but about 4-5 a day.

I expect the whole thing to take 5 months, give or take. The lurgie will probably be at least much less a factor by then.

Just watching The Galileo Seven. Love that episode!

Re: And so, it begins.

I've really started it. I'm sitting down and watching original timeline Star Trek, from start to finish. I'm not planning to write episode reviews or anything, but I will comment from time to time on how it's going and anything that springs to mind. The marathon to end all marathons! I was confused...

Re: Picard: the series as a whole

But it also shows that the Romulans are incredibly stupid. SURELY they could come up with a scheme that will lead to the outlawing of synth live WITHOUT destroying the very fleet which is supposed to help save their people? Like, do it a few months later, when the fleet is done and gone? Another cu...

Re: The Eight Star Fleet Ship Design Rules

Was trying to think of examples that break them... Nacelles in pairs : 3-Nacelle E-D from All Good Things. Yes, a projected future, but surely we must assume the projection was realistic. 1-Nacelle forward section of the Prometheus, when the ship splits up. 1-Nacelle Freedom class seen in the Best o...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

My mother's been home the past two weeks due to a viral infection, but it's a lot better now. McAvoy, how was the marathon? Best to watch Trek after several years. You may know the episode and how it ends but you forget alot of stuff in between. Also got me thinking about the political situation si...

Re: The Eight Star Fleet Ship Design Rules

The story is that Gene was very supportive of the Franz Joseph tech manual back in the day - made after the original series, Gene would support anything that kept Trek alive. But then TMP rolled around, and now he wants it clear that he and he alone is Mr Trek, so he decides to quash the TOS TM. Hen...

Re: USS Enterprise F Retrospective

Visual Guidance for the shuttle pilot prior to the shuttlebay flight controller triggering tractor systems. It's also why real life airport runways have the lights at the start and end, despite computer-controller landing systems existing. and without those, aircraft carriers use those angle-sensit...

Re: USS Enterprise F Retrospective

I've never understood the recent trend towards shuttlebays with runways leading into them. Shuttles don't need runways, so it's just wasted space.
