It also sets the table for a Solo 2 sequel to explain how Han encounters, then winds up in trouble with Jabba.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
I just did a short workout earlier this afternoon with the aid of a newly purchased dumbbell set. It was a bit painful to learn how far behind I've gotten in the latest interlude in my on-and-off attempts at keeping fit.

Re: Official Synopsis for Solo: A Star Wars Story Revealed
I went to see it Wednesday. Well it checked off all the expected checkboxes, and it was just fun without being weighed down with too much in terms of scope. Since that's all it's supposed to be it succeeded for me. It does go through some gymnastics to make the infamous "parsecs" comment k...

However, smart government reforms could stop global warming in it's tracks. Imagine a world with no "hot air" flowing out of Washington and other capitols.

There'd still be unintended consequences to consider. Moving that much material and dropping it onto existing land would increase the weight on that area of crust, pushing it down. There could then be a see-saw effect where adjacent un-weighted areas are lifted. Meanwhile, the lighter ocean floor li...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
My sister has taken a bit of a long path to her ultimate career. First a teacher she just graduated with an extension of her education in the field all the way to Ph.D. Now she'll study how young children learn math. As to me, I'll have a shortened day due to the holiday here on Monday and I should ...

Oddity regarding Kraal's swarm
I caught Beyond on TV last night and something new occurred to me. Kraal (Edinson) and his original crew from the Franklin coudln't have been that many, yet his swarm of "bees" looks to number in the thousands. Of course there are no firm numbers for either but the swarm is big and Frankli...

Re: Political studies and analyses
This recent article helps crystallize an issue which bothered me a bit, why most people in the general voting public have relatively moderate and similar views on many subjects but the debates on any issue tend towards extremes and absolutism. It references the concept of framing which has become an...

Re: BLACK PANTHER International Trailer 3 (Marvel 2018)
Think I'm gonna get a group of my white friends to come see this with me and talk over the entire movie. :happydevil: :happydevil: :happydevil:    In truth, I have my tickets for Saturday. My kids are hyped to see it, and for the most race-barrier-shattering reason of all: they think...

Re: Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018) - Official Trailer
Having never seen the TV series, these films are just an action movie franchise for me. Most of the entries are forgettable (indeed, I've forgotten much about many of them!) though the last to date (Rogue Nation, the seventh in series) I liked.
