Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

Glad you're feeling better, McAvoy. I haven't been on here in a while, but not a whole lot has been going on. Other than the fact that I'm a grandpa now. My oldest daughter gave birth to a son back in June, so he's 4 months old now. His name is Zander Dean Null, he was 6 lbs., 10 oz. at birth, and w...

Re: The Joke Thread

You know why Barbie and Ken never had kids?

Ken always comes in a different box.

Flat-earthers/flat-earth theory

Why do some people insist the earth is flat? It was proven a sphere thousands of years ago by a gentleman named Eratosthenes, whos was able to calculate the circumference of the earth by measuring the shadows of obelisks in two different cities at the same time of day. I did a little reasearch as to...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear of the problems, but very happy to hear that the treatment is working. Having lost Graham and my mother to Cancer I know how much of a knockout blow it can be to get the diagnosis for someone you love. We have just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary. It was only last ...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

In November of 2021 my wife Aimee was diagnosed with stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer, caused by a mutated genetic marker. The doctors fortunately didn't recommend chemo, but instead a targeted therapy (a drug called Tegrisso, which is $600 per pill!) along with a few sessions of radiation therapy...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

We got back from Disneyland Friday, left on Monday. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is as Star Wars as Disney can muster, which apparently is a lot. Life sized mock-ups of the Millenium Falcon, Poe's T-70 X-wing, Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter, and an A-wing, plus I got a hug from Chewie. There's a workshop where ...

Re: Aron Eisenberg (Nog) has passed away

I read somewhere he was born with different health problems and only one kidney and even his only kidney had to be replaced twice. I had no idea he was older than me. Such a shame.

I know, I'm necroing this thread, but: The longest word you can type on a QWERTY keyboard with the left hand is "stewardesses". Rubber bands last longer in the fridge. In the Unitrd States, there are two recipes for banana pudding, both as a result of the Civil War. One is a Northern recip...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

Since the Camp Fire, my family and I lived for six months in a low-income apartment complex in Chico. In June we moved to Gridley, CA. and bought a house with our insurance money from the house that burned down. Gridley is a nice, quiet farm town with a population of around 6,700. On our 21st annive...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

We're now living in Chico, CA., in some nice clean apartments. We have everything we need and nothing we don't. I'm pretty sure my wife and I have PTSD. The kids are resilient, especially my youngest. When we were driving through the fire, I was white-knuckling the steering wheel trying to calm my w...

I'm truly surprised DC isn't suing over this. It's so obviously a Superman rip off.
