Re: "Why Didn't Voyager Use The Bajoran Wormhole?"

I think that would’ve been an excellent ending to voyager though... imagine that being the end of the show. Voyager coming through the bajorian wormhole right next to DS9? Not as visually stimulating as seeing them heading to earth but would’ve been a nice tie up between both shows. Then they could...

Re: Picard spoileriffic discussion of the actual episodes

Since the episode establishes very clearly that the technology absolutely requires the use of an entire 20km thick planetary mantle made of tetrahedral quartz in order to function, one wonders how they make it work at all. But I guess they just :Q it and it works without the mantle. Nice to know th...

Re: Star Wars: The High Republic (200 years before the Prequ

Originally there was speculation that this High Republic era was going to be set 400 years before the prequels, so fans were speculating a young or middle-aged knight Yoda might be in play. Unlikely - by the time he died Yoda had been a Master for the best part of 800 years, so you'd have to go a l...

Re: Star Wars: The High Republic (200 years before the Prequ

Well... You can't have a lot of surprise if just 200 years before movies. You already know Yoda will survive whatever he does...

KOTOR era offer a lot more freedom as nothing in the movies mention anything older than Yoda.

1:25 on the left: "Actual Ending" In the Middle... uh... none stand out to me. On the right: ... ... DINOSAURS! Well... at any moment a planet somewhere in the Galaxy could have dinosaurs... What worry me about High Republic... Is that's just 200 year before movies... during the Thousand ...

Re: Picard spoileriffic discussion of the actual episodes

Had you just posted the Remmick pic without the preceding bit of a straw man, I'd have said "touche!", and made reference to other icky bits like the Ceti Alpha eels or the bloody worm choke of ST3. Of course, the producers heard a lot of protest about the TNG exploding head, with the epi...

Re: Picard spoileriffic discussion of the actual episodes

Well, sure, but it could still be good Star Trek. It doesn't have to be hopeless, poorly expository, unnecessarily gory, undercutting previous universe-building, and otherwise resemble badly written fanfic of some other show with Star Trek terms pasted over what was originally there. unnecessary go...

Re: Picard spoileriffic discussion of the actual episodes

With a ballpark average of 24ish episodes per season rather than the current ten or fifteen, and with runtime requirements that are sometimes not met by the new shows (e.g. there are at least two STD eps that only hit the high 30s rather than the high 40s), there is a lot more time for both charact...

Re: Picard spoileriffic discussion of the actual episodes

So there's a question... does Picard himself have any Borg parts left inside him? He was only a Borg for a couple of days, and Beverly did say she could remove the parts... but every single one? Good question... We know he always worried it wasn't the case and he was able to hear them in First Cont...

Re: A "Fixed" Sequel Trilogy Story idea...

I think the Unknown Regions is the general idea... to me the original situation would globally be the same: Both Leia and Lando are at the senate of the New Republic, Coruscant, Leia being the face of the Alderaan Refugees and Lando being there for Bespin. Luke is leading the New Jedi Order with Ahs...

Re: Picard spoileriffic discussion of the actual episodes

Charisma is subjective. Captain Georgiou was charismatic as all get-out, despite the horrid writing of the pilot that made her seem an ill-prepared and silly person. Pike radiated it, and even Tilly had her moments. The Orville folks aren't designed for charisma in the classic sense. They all have ...

Is the title supposed to attract attention when everyone here know Voyager and Bajoran Wormhole are in two different quadrant?

Re: Picard spoileriffic discussion of the actual episodes

I find you really hard with the writing team... in 4 episodes they assembled a crew were each character is more charismatic that all the charisma of the crew of the Discovery and the Orville combined... and each flashback gave us what we needed about the lore: what are Picard's nightmare, what reapp...
