George Takei's Best April Fool's Ever

George announced via Twitter that he was chosen as the final torch bearer for the newly postponed Olympic games in Japan. He featured a pic of the torch, along with some of his Trek do-dads. Much excitement ensued, to only find out a day later, that it was a hoax of his own making. I guess if it had...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

LEGO update: In most sets, you have very specific graphic instructions, and bags with numbers that have the pieces for those instructions. You work page by page, bag by bag, and so on. Well, much to my surprise, the VW Bus had the expected directions, but the bags were NOT numbered and completely ra...

Picard: the series as a whole

I recently finished watching Picard, and was struck by my feelings about the series as a whole. My initial impression was, like other CBS All Access attempts at Star Trek, this was going to be an uncomfortable shoe-horning of classic Trek into their vision of the universe. And to a point, that is ex...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

I've built a bunch over the years. Some architecture (Frank Lloyd Wright Falling Water house), lots of Iron Man Hulkbusters of all sizes, the giant T Rex and gate from Jurassic Park, the dino skeletons set, etc. Been stalking the super huge Star Wars M.Falcon (7000+ pieces), but it's big money! Rece...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

NY has joined California on statewide lockdown today.

Just splurged on my LEGOS wishlist, of the things they actually have available to ship. Should last a day or two..lol

Re: Picard: Why Use Discovery Ships?

Because it is a CBS All Access property, which also produces Discovery and seemingly wants to push Picard into their 'universe'.

I would suspect that any other Trek produced by CBSAA, will also be in the Disco universe.

Their version of 'continuity' I suppose.

Happy Impeachment Day

Senate begins the trial phase today, to see if any of them have enough conscious to remove the tiny handed orange baby twitter addict from his office....the bathroom!

At least his complexion will match his jumpsuit some day soon :laughroll:

Loved it when it first came out. I think I went to see it because Val Kilmer was in it.

Re: Halston Sage from Orville has a new gig

At least she is free of that awful wig and ridiculous prosthetic ear nonsense that never looked good.

Hoping they give her more to do in Prodigal Son when they return from holiday hiatus next week.

Re: Universal Reportedly Plans To Remake 'Jaws'

No...just no!

Yes, Bruce was a joke of a machine, but the film is still a classic.

Is Hollywood so lacking in imagination and the ability to come up with new material, that they feel the need to reboot every film in their vast catalogue that made them $$$$$?

Certainly looks like Kate Mulgrew's jawline from the side. Hair/wig is a good possibility as well.

The Last Stand, with Arnold Schwartzenegger (2013) The leader of a drug cartel busts out of a courthouse and speeds to the Mexican border, where the only thing in his path is a sheriff and his inexperienced staff. Arnie poking fun at his age, as an old lawman, makes this film quite enjoyable. Had se...

Today I watched 'Red'. Still a guilty pleasure film for me, as all the fancy actors seemed to be having such fun being killers.

Re: The Mandalorian | Official Trailer | Disney+ *Spoilers*

My partner in crime has begun to ask, at various times of the day and night: 'Do the magic hand thing'..and I pull my index, middle and ring fingers together so I appear to be tridactyl like baby Yoda, and wave back. Much hilarity ensues afterward. It simply doesn't get old!
