I assume the practice run would be landing on the asteroid that he mentioned. :P

Obama sets Mars goal for America

Barack Obama says it should be possible to send astronauts to orbit the planet Mars by the mid-2030s and return them safely to Earth. The US president made the claim in a major speech to staff and guests at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. He was laying out the details of his new policy for the...

Re: How does the Enterprise reverse?

After a bit of research, I've figured out that impulse engines use a vectored thrust nozzle to direct plasma exhaust.
Plasma exhaust is used for propulsion.

How does the Enterprise reverse?

I was wondering how it's done since the impulse engines are on the back of the saucer section.

Re: Armaggedon Beginning With Norway

How? Easily. Poor recreation of effects by someone(s) trying to depict what they couldn't get a shot of. More probably, a simple photographic effect caused byt the very fact of it being an elapsed photo. There are many photos. And there is video footage as well. Are you saying they were all affected?

Re: Armaggedon Beginning With Norway

Well, 2 days ago Russia flat-out denied this being a missile. The very next day... Russia fully takes responsibility for it. I really don't buy the missile thing. How do you explain the other things like the fact of it having two starting points for the spiral?

Re: Armaggedon Beginning With Norway

I think this it's an insult to our intelligence for them to call this a Russian missile. The spiral is FAR too regular for this to be an out of control missile. Another interesting fact, there are two starting points on the object. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/12/09/article-1234430-07887B1000...

Re: Data and Pulaski

That episode was called The Measure of a Man and was Episode 9 of Season 2. I can't recall if she made any idiotic comments beyond that episode. Also, I am not only referring to one episode. There were several episodes where she made those types of comments. The Child, Where Silence Has Lease, and E...

Re: FTL Drive In The Real World

Ok, well now the question is how can we control negative energy. If we ever can, it would -with out a doubt- be the greatest scientific achievement in the history of our species. I was reading some more stuff about negative energy. It said that not only FTL travel, but also teleportation, wormhole g...

Re: FTL Drive In The Real World

How hard would it be to actually create an engine that could achieve at least the speed of light? I was wondering how this could be achieved and how it could work. The closest star, Proxima Centauri is only 4.22 lightyears away from the sun... which means with a lightspeed capable probe and after a...
