Re: Pitch a Trek miniseries
Hmmm, intriguing. I guess if I were doing that, I would have them go through and find the Dominion in ruins. Nobody is quite sure why, but it gradually became clear that the Dominion encountered something... worse. Much worse. A new Big Bad. Well...to be honest...I would be against a new "big ...

Re: Pitch a Trek miniseries
Well...I am bored by every "prequel" Star Trek...so here is my pitch, DS9 ended in 1999. The new series is set 20 years later. After the end of the dominion war the wormwhole remained closed and no expedition was started into the gamma quadrant for diplomatic reasons. Between everything th...

STD S1, suprisingly good...with some unfortunate mistakes
SPOILERS AHEAD! Now this might be a bit controversial but I recently had finally time to binge-watch Season 1 and I was actually pleasently suprised by it. I consider myself more of a "classic" Star Trek fan, so I went into the show expecting to hate those things which stood out in the tra...

Re: Tarantino Trek a go?!
SIr Patrick, back in Star Trek?! :rave: Although I feel that Tarantino would more be more likely to want Kirk and Spock. Not necessarily....I heard an interview of him once and he theorized that if he had the chance he would make a movie out of an episode like "Yesterdays Enterprise" iirc...

Re: Infinity War
I hope they bring Coulson back for this one.
Agents of Shield feels like a completly different universe nowadays and the movies never acknowledge anything happening there.....so......time to end AoS and merge it back together imho.

Re: Tarantino Trek a go?!
R-Rated Star Trek? How would that work? It's Tarantino, so the 'R' willl likely be for violence rather than sexual content. Why not both? But then...there actually is quite a lot of violence in star trek....(people die horrible deaths all the time, or get assimilated etc.) That being said...
Re: Dunkirk
Can you even consider this a movie? Without the amazing soundtrack this would have been a huge snore-fest. There was no story, hardly any dialoge.....it was like a 2 hour trailer..... Granted, the visuals were great and the soundtrack was amazing. But I expected so much more. I mean that is why I am...

Re: Quentin Tarantino On Star Trek (Video)
I have to admit...I would love to have Tarantino have a go at a Star Trek movie. Say what you will about Tarantino (and yes, most of his movies end up being way too long) but at least he can write INTERESTING dialogue, something most movies are missing nowadays. Altough I think a variant on Yesterda...

Re: Thor: Ragnarok Official Trailer
The precedent was set two "Thor" films ago for black Asgardians, so I can't really call them on it now. I suppose that's right. To be fair though....as a non-comic book reader I didn't really know about the Heimdall character and at least they got a top notch actor in the bargain..... Now...

Re: Thor: Ragnarok Official Trailer
Can't say yet anything as to the story, but double secret probation props for the casting. Can't wait to see the movie....bit disappointed about the Valkyrie though...was expecting a very tall, athletic, nordic beauty...........not gonna lie, getting a bit sick off this "controversial" ma...

Re: ST: Discovery Klingons Full Analysis (Trekyards)
Hmm..I wonder if the creators/suits ever thought about their show being abreviated to "STD"......Nutso wrote: The Klingons of STD could just be like those Orcs, enemies to be cut down.

Re: Rumours, news and general speculation
So this is official artwork showing the Discovery. http://www.ditl.org/Vanfolder/snap1235.jpg That saucer looks completely impractical. That engineering hull looks stupid. Those nacelles look utterly ridiculous. Looks like a pizza cutter! http://www.iamfatterthanyou.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013...

Re: Rumours, news and general speculation
I have to admit the trailer looks nice and interesting...but at the same time I thought...what if this is a completely new sci-fi universe? Is there any indication as to why it HAS to be star trek? What if the klingons are just aliens called differently? They LOOK completely differently. They have a...

Re: Rumours, news and general speculation
Is this supposed to be in the "prime" universe or in the Abrahms-Universe?
From the looks I would say the latter, lens-flares and all......

Re: Is the DC movie universe circling the drain?
I might get laughed at for this but imho the DC universe was never better than with Batman The Animated Series, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. I watched that as a kid and liked it....years later I watched it as an adult and was finally able to appreciate the sheer quality of story-tell...
