The Enterpise-D becomes trapped in a Tyken's rift. Also trapped in the rift is a telepathic alien species who unknowingly block the Enterprise crew from being able to dream, gradually eroding their rationality. Counsellor Troi is able to make telepathic contact with the aliens and working together both ships are able to ecape the rift. [1]
