When Troi shoots Eli Hollander's hat off, he turns to look at her before dropping his weapon. Yet Troi is using a lever-action rifle; she didn't cock it after firing, so Hollander would easily be able to turn and shoot her before she could do anything more to him.

This script was judged good enough to land writer Robert Hewitt Wolfe a permanent job on TNG. He would later go on to write for DS9 before becoming Executive Producer on Andromeda.
