Why doesn't Troi appear in this episode? Surely it would be useful to have her monitoring Picard's mind while he is unconcious, like she did with Riker in "Shades of Grey".

Patrick Stewart puts in one of his greatest acting performances in all of the next generation for this episode. It's truly wonderful.

Plotline

Under the influence of a mysterious probe, Picard believes his time in Starfleet was a delusion and settles down to live out his life on the planet Kataan.

Analysis

A superb acting performance by Patrick Stewart makes this one of Star Treks finest hours.
