In this episode they say that the Dominion will be sure to detect any tricorder scans they take on Cardassia. So after Jadzia is wounded, why does Worf tell her to scan herself once every half an hour?

Since Terry Farrel had already decided to leave at the end of the season, the writers seriously considered having Worf continue on to complete his mission, leaving Jadzia behind to die. Ms Farrel was in favour of it, but the writers decided not to go with the idea.

Plotline

Worf and Dax are sent out to pick up a Cardassian who has been passing intelligence to the Federation. But when Dax is badly injured, Worf must a stark choice - save the life of the woman he loves or complete the mission.
