Review : Personally, I never saw Star Trek Beyond until AFTER it came out on DVD .... and I have to say that I liked it. Call me an action guy, but I didn't like the fact that the Enterprise didn't even fire ONE single shot against the USS Vengeance in Into Darkness. Yes she would have been toast if she did, but so what?! You see the Enterprise fire everything she got in this one and it STILL didn't make a damn bit of difference. But at least this time the Enterprise literally went out guns blazing and didn't just stand around and let herself get hit like she did in Into Darkness, which is the point that Kirk just proves here. It serves to show that when you are down that road that you know there's no way out, you don't just accept it if you think there's a way out. You just don't. I liked seeing Starbase Yorktown and I have to agree with its size. I refuse to believe that the prime Starfleet couldn't build something like that, when they've had vehicles and bases like the Enterprise-D and Starbase 74 for years. However, I must accept that maybe they didn't build stuff like Yorktown for a reason, whether it be a real life reason or not. I must agree with Graham that I didn't like seeing Jaylah all that much. Yes she is a good character, but for what it was worth, I could have easily introduced a character named Mr. Estes (excuse my ego haha), and given him some lines like "Im the chief of security," and it would not have made much difference in the movie either. I half expected to see the Franklin become an old NX class like the 22nd century Enterprise but meh, I like seeing new ships in movies like Beyond, and I just like the movie overall despite its subtle, if minor, flaws. Finally, I did NOT like how they did the theme music for the end credits differently. You could have done the music EXACTLY like it was in 2009 and Into Darkness, and it would have made the end credits so much better. I like watching the end credits for the music at the end, but now .... *shrugs* there's just no point anymore. Oh well, hopefully they will fix that mistake in the next one. 5 out of 5.
