The USS Enterprise approaches the planet Altimid from within the Nerco Cloud nebula. [1]

The ship approaches orbit [1]

A strange diffuse ship like formation is seen approaching from the planet surface [1]

The object appears to be an large ship [1]

On closer inspection it became apparent that it was a vast swarm of small ships. [1]

The Enterprise opens fire on the oncoming swarm... [1]

...but the shear numbers of targets made little difference [1]

The swarm approaches the ship [1]

The Enterprise fires a photon torpedo, but the swarm avoids it with ease. [1]

Despite all weapons being fired the swarm seems to be unaffected [1]

The shear numbers overwhelm the Enterprise [1]

Several of the attacking swarm breach the ships hull [1]

The swarm targets the deflector dish... [1]

...destroying it almost immediately [1]

Attempting to escape the attack Kirk orders the ship to warp. The swarm starts attacking the nacelle pylons... [1]

...severing them with ease... [1]

...causing disruptions of the impulse engines, making escape impossible [1]

The nacelles drift away from the ship [1]

Breaching pods start penetrating the hull... [1]

...troops start boarding the ship and battle ensues. [1]

Krall the enemy leader breaches the ships vault... [1]

...and retrieves the Abronath [1]

Scotty fixed the impulse engines... [1]

...and the Enterprise starts to escape [1]

The swarm attacks again... [1]

...severing the neck of the ship and detaching the dish [1]

Kirk retrieves the Abronath and hides it [1]

Kirk gives the order to abandon ship [1]

The saucer section enters the atmosphere [1]

and crashes on the surface [1]
